Overview

With the current work from home situation, garden room offices are gathering popularity. Unfortunately the current garden room on this plot was leaking and was a little small. The garden storage shed was also leaking and the homeowners would like a consistent look and feel.

Brief

The garden shed

  • re-felt the roof
  • add a damp proof course to stop rising damp
  • clad the shed in larch strips
  • add soffits and facets
  • build a metal frame heavy duty gate

The garden room

  • dismantle the current garden room
  • triple the size of the foundation base
  • felt the slight angled roof (intrudes less on the neighbours)
  • fully insulate the room
  • larch cladding
  • bi-fold doors to open the space to the garden
  • 2 windows
  • small decked area outside
  • add in new electric storage heaters

Kitchen

  • Howdens solid wood kitchen
  • bifold windows to bar area
  • create utility room with built in storage around large american fridge
  • sink, dryer, and washing machine to be housed in a utility cupboard

Ensuite Bathroom

  • new tiling
  • waterfall shower
  • brass antique fittings to match in with new kitchen

Exterior

  • render the rear wall
  • add in lights
  • replace two windows, and add in a bifold door

*In the second phase of the job we will be adding a deck and bar area in the garden
