Total Bungalow Redesign – The Wad, West Wittering

Brief

This bungalow was originally built around 60 years ago, and although built to a solid spec the design and layout need updating to accommodate the home owners modern life. We will also redo the whole heating system, plumbing and electrics.

The plan is to do a full renovation. This will include:

  • wrap around rear/side extension
  • reconfiguring layout for open plan flexible living
  • bifold doors to help bridge the gap between garden and house
  • aluminium windows replacing old UPVC windows
  • flush hard wearing flooring throughout
  • create functional kitchen/dining/entertaining space
  • utility room with lots of storage

FINISHED PROJECT

The home owners have a great eye for colours and details, and this really helps us as builders. One of favourite aspects are the blue aluminium windows that make a colourful pop against the pale greys/white on the exterior.

Moving inside the new matching front door is a wide hallway that connects the two main rooms downstairs. The hallway doors can be opened wide open to connect open the entertaining spaces.

In the large kitchen diner, we built in a roof light in the ceiling to maximise light in the new extension. Also in the kitchen you will notice lighting around the units and worktops – this really makes an impact on this already high end kitchen.

The garden is now connected to the house by bifold doors. Bifolds are a good way to open up the space for summertime living (in uk climes!)

Upstairs there is some clever storage built into the multi wood panels. Also in terms of storage are some bespoke eves cupboards built on site by our carpenter. And downstairs in the utility room there are plenty of cupboards, shelves and storage to stow away useful items.

Please do get in contact if you have any questions about this build.
